Acquisition of Van Zaal Transport by Royal FloraHolland

Royal FloraHolland acquires 100% of the shares in Van Zaal Transport through Floriway. Rembrandt Mergers & Acquisitions advised the seller in realizing this transaction. The transaction is still awaiting approval from the Authority for Consumers and Markets.

Van Zaal Transport
Van Zaal Transport is a full-service logistics service provider in the horticulture industry. The company is specialised in transporting horticultural (and related) products in the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of Germany. The company has a modern fleet and seven conveniently located depots near the largest flower auctions. As a result, Van Zaal Transport has an extensive distribution network and is therefore able to provide both collective services and national distribution.

Royal FloraHolland
Royal FloraHolland is a cooperative of growers and is particularly known for its auctions in the Netherlands. They connect growers and buyers and work together with all parties in the floriculture sector. They are the largest marketplace in the world within this sector and are developing this marketplace into a digital platform with smart logistics solutions. In addition to Van Zaal Transport, Royal FloraHolland is also joining forces with two other leading transporters in the sector. With this collaboration, the most optimal logistics chain for floriculture is being built. The joint venture will be called Floriway.
